Victim ID'd, Arrest In Fatal Hit-And-Run In South Brunswick: Cops
The investigation is continuing
SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Police have made an arrest in connection with an overnight fatal hit-and-run crash in New Jersey, prosecutors said. The victim was also identified.
Peter Prete, 57, of Jamesburg was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash as well as various motor vehicle violations, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
The fatal victim was identified as Cory Holsten, 25, of the Dayton section of South Brunswick. He was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash, according to the MCPO.

The investigation began after police were dispatched to the scene of the crash that occurred in the area of Cranbury Road and Davidson Mill Road in South Brunswick at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Thursday.
The preliminary investigation has determined that Prete was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler when he crashed into the motorcycle driven by the victim. Prete fled the scene but was later apprehended at his residence, according to the MCPO.

The investigation is continuing. Police are actively seeking information from any witnesses who may have knowledge regarding this fatal crash, according to the MCPO.
