Father Killed, 2 Children Critically Injured In South Brunswick Crash
The 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A dump truck and Nissan Altima collided on Route 522 at Kingston Lane/Ridge Road.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A South Brunswick man was killed and two of his children critically injured in a crash that took place on Route 522 on Tuesday, the South Brunswick Police Department said.
The crash was reported at 12:26 p.m. on Route 522 at Kingston Lane/Ridge Road. A dump truck, driven by a 42-year-old man from Milltown, was traveling westbound on Route 522. A 2013 Nissan Altima driven by a 21-year-old South Brunswick resident was headed eastbound on Route 522.
Both vehicles collided in the intersection with the dump truck going onto the front lawn of a nearby business, police said. The 57-year-old father was pronounced dead at the scene. The 21-year-old driver and his 16-year-old sister are currently in the intensive care unit.

The Monmouth Junction Fire Department extricated the passengers from the Nissan. South Brunswick EMS, Monroe EMS, and paramedics transported the injured to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
The dump truck driver was uninjured, police said.

According to investigation, the Nissan made an improper left turn from the far right eastbound lane, crossing over five lanes of travel before being struck by the dump truck in the westbound lanes, police said.
“Our hearts go out to this family at this very difficult time. As a community we will support them in whatever way possible. I thank the community members and doctor who immediately stopped to provide aid,” Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.
