First Day Of School, Rain, Traffic Enforcement: Around South Brunswick
Here's what to expect as you hit the road in South Brunswick:
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Around 9,000 students head back to school today, but the weather could could dampen the cheer. The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management issued an advisory for heavy rains Tuesday morning.
South Brunswick police have advised motorists to allow for extra time in their morning commute and anticipate delays. There is potential for local street flooding which may make the first day of school challenging.
Here are some guidelines for Tuesday:

- Be Alert When Driving
- Use reduced speeds
- Do not leave recycling or garbage cans in the roadway, place them on the curb
- Do not drive through flooded roads
Meanwhile the police department has implemented Operation Safe Schools which will see enhanced police presence at all Township schools and increased traffic enforcement in school zones.

New Road (Kendall Park)- Speeding and distracted driving
East Side
Georges Road - speeding, distracted driving and overweight ordinance violations.
These traffic enforcement details will be conducted in addition to routine enforcement efforts.
