Gunpoint Carjacking at Rt. 1 Hotel, Police Report

A hotel guest at the Sonesta ES Suites hotel on Rt. 1 at Raymond Road said his Honda Civic was stolen at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - South Brunswick Police say they are investigating a carjacking that happened Tuesday morning in the parking lot of the Sonesta ES Suites Princeton, at 4225 Rt. 1 (near the intersection of Raymond Road).

At 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, a guest of the hotel was sitting in his Honda Civic warming the vehicle up when he was approached by two men. One man knocked on the driver’s side window and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The suspect was holding a gun. The suspect got into the vehicle and fled the hotel parking lot. Both suspects were described as wearing black ski masks and being of a medium build, police said.

At 9:30 a.m., Ewing Police recovered the stolen Honda in a parking lot off Bear Tavern Road. Detectives have processed the vehicle and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (732) 329-4000 ext. 7496.
