Historic Landmark Designation, Appointments On South Brunswick Council Agenda Tuesday

The Council is expected to appoint an Acting Chief Financial Officer for the Township during Tuesday's council meeting.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Council will be meeting on Tuesday and on the agenda are ordinances and resolutions that could be of interest to the community.

Among the ordinances is amending a chapter of the Township’s Historic Preservation by designating the property on 354 Georges Road as a historic landmark.

The property is the site of the Slack-Carroll House that was a country doctor's home and office for over 100 years.

According to township history, this property was named after physicians Slack and Carroll, who occupied the home at different time.

Historians say Slack was the first physician for Dayton and the home was built sometime between 1860-1867.

Also on the agenda is a resolution appointing a member to the Senior Advisory Council and appointing Phoenix Financial Advisors as the Acting Chief Financial Officer of the Township.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the main meeting room in the Municipal Building.
