Home Invasion After South Brunswick Teens Advertise Party On Snapchat

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — After two South Brunswick teens threw a house party and advertised it on Snapchat, their Princeton Walk home was broken into and burglarized last Thursday.

The burglary happened last Thursday at a home on Brookwood Court in Princeton Walk: South Brunswick police were called on Thursday evening, Aug. 17, to the home for a reported theft. Officers arrived and spoke to two residents of the home. The residents said they came home from walking their dog and found their front door partially open. Officers searched the residence and discovered some rooms ransacked.

The two residents told police their parents were away on vacation and they had thrown a party the night before. The residents indicated approximately 50 high-school-aged people attended the party, but they did not know most of them. The advertised the party on Snapchat and people showed up from all over the area, including from Montgomery, Hillsborough and South Brunswick.

The residents believed some thefts occurred during the party but were unsure what was taken. Officers located multiple doors and windows unlocked in the home. The suspects took two laptops but left other items behind. The residents said there was an envelope in one room with $100 in cash but the suspects on took $70 dollars.

Neighbors reported the residents were holding several gatherings in the days since their parents went away on vacation. Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Detective Tim Hoover at (732) 329-4000 extension 7443.
