How Many Tickets Given Out In South Brunswick April Crackdown?
From April 1 - April 21, here's how many tickets were issued for drivers caught texting or talking on their cell while driving, police say.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Were you pulled over in South Brunswick Twp. in the month of April? It may have been part of a statewide crackdown on distracted driving that many police departments in New Jersey participated in, including South Brunswick.
From April 1 through April 21, South Brunswick used grant money to put extra patrols out looking for dangerous or distracted drivers. As part of the targeted enforcement, police pulled over 238 cars, and 173 summonses total were issued.
Released by South Brunswick police, here is a breakdown of all the tickets given:

Failure to wear a seat belt: 4

Reckless driving: 1
Careless driving: 19
Use of cell phone/texting while driving: 5
Driving with a suspended license: 9
Other summonses: 125
Arrest: 2 drivers were wanted on outstanding warrants
During that same time period, routine patrol officers (not paid for using the grant money) issued 653 additional summonses, and made five DWI arrests.
