Residents in parts of the township are experiencing discolored water due to water line construction work.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Residents and businesses in the Dayton and Monmouth Junction section of the Township are experiencing discolored water due to the water line construction work.

South Brunswick Township Water Department is flushing hydrants in and around the impacted neighborhoods to minimize the effects. The discolored water has increased iron in it and will clear up with the flushing of the hydrants, the township said.

The Water Department will be out flushing hydrants till 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16. Residents can open up a cold water faucet in their home and let it run for 5 minutes which should clear water.
