IACFNJ will celebrate India's 72nd Independence Day on August 19, 2018, in South Brunswick, New Jersey
Indo-American Cultural Foundation of Central Jersey (IACFNJ), a non-profit organization in central jersey will celebrate India’s 72nd Independence Day on Sunday, August 19, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shree Swaminarayan Temple (old YMCA), 329 Culver Road, South Brunswick. Approximately 300 to 400 people are expected to attend this fun-filled patriotic event which is free and open to all public.
After last eight years of grand success and overwhelming community support, the organizers and executive committee of IACFNJ once again are getting ready to organize 2018 patriotic celebration of India’s Independence Day event with fun-filled entertainment and cultural activities, dance performances, traditional Indian dances, patriotic dances, children’s activities, DJ, live music/singing and authentic Indian food sampling which will be open to all at an outdoor location of the temple grounds. The program will include singing of the American and Indian Anthems followed by the local and state public officials and dignitaries address to the attendees and fun filled patriotic dances from the young and talented kids from the local dance groups.

The live DJ and music will be provided by DJ Darshan of North Brunswick. The authentic Indian food sampling will be provided to all participants at end of the program. The henna tattoos, face paintings and other kids activities will be the attractions for this community event. Many young high school students will provide their community volunteer services during this event. The volunteer participants will be awarded with certificate of volunteerism. IACFNJ dedicated Executive Committee, trustees and their hard-working committee members are getting ready and working very hard to bring this event a grand success once again this year. South Brunswick is ethnically diverse township with population of south Asians especially Indians with more than 23% according to the latest census. The community people from the surrounding towns of North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Franklin, Somerset, Monroe, Princeton, Princeton-Junction and West Windsor will attend this event. IACFNJ has been a leader in promoting South Asian culture and values to newer generation by organizing many activities for the past 15 years in Central Jersey. IACFNJ organizes summer picnic, Navratri Garba, cultural events to raise funds to support the local organizations and Diwali and Christmas celebrations. The next IACFNJ mega event will be Navratri Garba in South Brunswick in October 2018.
