South Brunswick, NJ - Police are seeking this suspect who they say is arranging to meet victims at the Tilted Kilt in South Brunswick Township after contacting them over Instagram in a scam for money.
The victim, a 19-year-old South Brunswick woman, told police she was contacted via direct messaging on Instagram by a man she didn't know at 9:30 a.m. on June 22. She said his Instagram name was Mulamaker, and he offered her free money if she gave him her debit card, pin number and online log-in info to her bank account.
The woman did not give the info online, but agreed to meet him at the Tilted Kilt off Rt. 1 in Monmouth Junction, police said. She met with him later that same day, at noon on June 22. At the bar, she gave him her debit card, pin number and bank account log-in info. He told her he would have to withdraw some money as part of the deal, but would deposit more shortly afterwards.

The teen checked her bank account later that day and saw $250 was missing, taken out from an ATM in Newark. She was also notified that he had deposited $3,000 in checks to her account. However, as of Tuesday morning, July 5, those checks have still not cleared into her account. The teen told police at least two other people at the Tilted Kilt have reported being contacted by this man. South Brunswick police released these surveillance photos of him.
The girl told her mother, who told her it was a scam and told her to cancel her debit card and call her bank, Capital One. She had to file a police report with South Brunswick PD, as only police can freeze an account.
