Jamesburg Home Was Heroin Den, Prosecutor Says
A pair of Jamesburg brothers allegedly ran a large-scale heroin operation out of their home, the Middlesex County prosecutor announced.

JAMESBURG, NJ — A pair of Jamesburg brothers allegedly ran a large-scale heroin operation out of their home, the Middlesex County prosecutor announced Wednesday night.
Detectives with the county prosecutor's office raided their Pergola Avenue, Jamesburg home early in the morning Wednesday and seized approximately 50 bricks of heroin (which is in excess of over 2,000 individual dosage units), cash totaling $872, and a scale and grinder both used in the manufacture and distribution of narcotics, police said.
The raid was done at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 12 Pergola Avenue in the borough of tiny Jamesburg. Cesar Ortiz, 22 and his brother Erick Barbosa, 18 were arrested. The elder brother, Ortiz, was charged with numerous offenses, including possession and intent to sell heroin. This comes after previous charges against for possession of cocaine and illegal possession of a handgun.

The younger brother, Barbosa, was only charged with a disorderly person’s offense of possession of marijuana.
Wednesday's raid was the culmination of an investigation spanning several months where county detectives had been monitoring the two brothers and the home, police said.
