Kendall Park Homeowner Finds Burglar In Garage

A homeowner returned from taking his dog on an early-morning walk Monday to find a man in his garage, rifling through his car, police said.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — There were at least two car break-ins in Kendall Park Monday morning, South Brunswick police announced, and in one of the instances, a homeowner coming back from taking his dog on an early-morning walk actually confronted someone in his garage next to his car.

At 5:08 a.m. yesterday, Officer Matthew Hagood responded to a 911 call from Eleanor Drive. The homeowner told the officer that after walking his dog he came back into his home through the garage, leaving the door open. Minutes later, he went back into his garage and that's when he saw someone standing next to his car.

The resident shouted at the suspect, who then fled to an awaiting dark blue or black vehicle and left the area. The suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt when the incident occurred and there were additional individuals in the getaway car when he fled.
