SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A grim discovery was made at a Rt. 130 motel in South Brunswick Monday: The body of a young man was found in the motel pool, and police think he may have suffered a medical episode while swimming laps.
The 23-year-old man was found at the bottom of a pool at the Marriott Town Place Suites at 2535 Rt. 130 on Monday morning, South Brunswick police said. At 8:30 a.m. a hotel employee found the man in the pool. Hotel employees, police and EMS attempted to revive the man but he was pronounced dead. It was an indoor pool.
He was from out of state and was a guest at the motel, police said. Preliminary indications indicate that the man suffered some type of medical episode while swimming laps in the pool. The Middlesex County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, police said.
