Man Charged In Plainsboro D&R Canal Sexual Assault Pleads Guilty
Rogelio Calyeca Postrero, 38, of Raritan is scheduled to be sentenced on October 30, the Middlesex County Prosecutor said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – A Raritan man who was charged in connection with the sexual assault of a woman at Plainsboro’s D&R Canal, has pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault, officials said.
The announcement was made Monday by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, Brendan McIntyre of the Plainsboro Police Department, Chief Raymond Hayducka of South Brunswick Police Department and Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
On Thursday, June 8, Rogelio Calyeca Postrero, 38, pled before judge Benjamin S. Bucca, J.S.C., to first-degree aggravated sexual assault. He is subject to a sentence of 20 years in a New Jersey State Prison pursuant to the No Early Release Act and will be on parole supervision for life and must register under Megan’s Law.

On Sept. 28, 2021, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., a woman was walking on a path in the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park on the border of Plainsboro and South Brunswick, when she was approached by an armed man with a knife. The man dragged her into a wooded area, demanded money and then sexually assaulted her, authorities said.
After an extensive investigation, Rogelio Calyeca Postrero, 38, of Raritan was identified as the man who attacked the woman, authorities said.

Calyeca Postrero was charged with first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, first-degree robbery, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
Calyeca Postrero is scheduled to be sentenced on October 30, this year.
