Man Charged After Tying Dog To Truck, Driving In South Brunswick:PD

The Siberian Husky sustained serious injuries to his legs and torso, but is expected to make a recovery, police said.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A South Brunswick man has been charged with animal cruelty after he tied his dog to a truck and drove around, police said Friday.

On April 7, around 8:26 pm Thomas J. Williams, 40, of Monmouth Junction was seen by neighbors dragging his Siberian Husky behind his vehicle.

South Brunswick police followed leads that led to NorthStar Veterinarian Hospital where the dog was being treated, authorities said.

According to investigation, Williams tied the Siberian Husky to the tow hitch of his truck as he drove down Henderson Road for approximately half a mile till other motorists got him to stop, police said.

The dog sustained serious injuries to his legs and torso.

Williams was charged with third-degree animal cruelty and is lodged at Middlesex County Adult Correction Center. The dog is expected to recover from his injuries.
