SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police say this man led them on an 80-mile-per-hour motorcycle chase down Rt. 1 Wednesday night

The incident started at 5:04 p.m. Wednesday, when South Brunswick police officer Matthew Hagood tried to pull the motorcycle over on Rt. 1 south because it had no visible license plate. When the motorcycle reached speeds of over 80 miles per hour, Hagood stopped following it. Minutes later, witnesses called police headquarters to report seeing a motorcycle speeding near Aldrich Road and New Road. At 5:14 p.m., the motorbike was back on New Road headed towards Rt. 1 when Bennett crashed into Hagood’s police car as he was pulling out of the Kendall Park Fire Department.
