Men Steal $10,000 From Elderly South Brunswick Woman
The incident took place last Thursday on Georges Road near Haypress Road, police said.

South Brunswick, NJ - The South Brunswick Police Department is looking for the community’s help in tracking down two men who targeted a elderly township woman and stole more then $10,000 from her.
The incident took place last Thursday at around 1:30 p.m. on Georges Road near Haypress Road. The suspects knocked on the elderly woman’s door and indicated they were from a construction company doing work in the area. The suspects told the woman she needed to have trees removed from her backyard at a cost of $600. The men had the victim walk into the backyard and said they would cut the trees down for $500, if she paid in cash. The victim went back into the home and gave the suspects cash.
The suspects then distracted the woman and took her entire cash savings, which was in the home, police said.

“These suspects are some of the lowest kind of people we deal with. They not only stole the victim’s money but her sense of safety and security,” said Police Chief Raymond Hayducka. “She works her entire life only to be targeted by criminals when she reaches 90. We need the public’s help to hunt these guys down.”
The suspects are described as two males with tan-colored skin, possibly Hispanic. They spoke with accents. The one younger suspect was wearing a baseball cap; the older suspect was wearing dark-colored clothing. They were last seen walking away from the home. Police are looking for anyone who may have seen these two suspects on Georges Road in the Dayton section of the Township last Thursday. Detectives believe the suspects may have knocked on other homes. Police are asking anyone with information to call Detective Dennis Yuhasz at 732-329-4000, ext 7485.
