4 Kids Hospitalized When School Bus Crashes Into Tree In Monroe
One middle schooler broke his leg and multiple students were injured after a school bus crashed into a tree Thursday in Monroe Township.
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Multiple middle school students were injured, and one broke their leg, when a school bus crashed Thursday afternoon in Monroe Township.
The crash happened at 3:00 p.m.: Monroe Twp. Police received a 911 call that a school bus had crashed into a tree.
The bus was taken students home from Monroe Township Middle School. Police say the bus was traveling east on North State Home Road when it left the roadway, striking a tree on the driver’s side of the bus.

One middle-school student (age not given) suffered a broken leg and was transported to a local hospital, while three other students suffered minor injuries and were also transported to local hospitals. Additional students reported minor complaints, were evaluated on scene by EMTs and were released to their parents.
The crash is being investigated by the Monroe Township Traffic Safety Bureau. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact The Traffic Safety Bureau at 732-521-0222, ext. 126.
