Middlesex County Announces Random Sobriety Check Points
These traffic stops are meant to curb drunk driving, so always remember to designate a driver, or have the number for a taxi ready to go.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office announced today they would begin conducting random sobriety traffic stops throughout the next year, thanks to a new grant.
The $36,300 grant, provided by the NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety, will pay for sobriety checkpoints through September of 2017. Prosecutors hope the checkpoints will reduce drunk driving, which spikes during holidays.
Fines and legal fees relating to DWI arrests can cost motorists as much as $15,000-- much more expensive than a $20 cab ride home.

The checkpoints will be random throughout the county. Anyone drinking should designate a sober friend to drive, or make sure they have an app or a phone number to call a taxi.
