Around 11:20 p.m. June 24, Franklin police were called to a Route 27 convenience store on a report of an aggravated assault.

The victim told police that a man - later identified as Bhim - asked to meet with him at the Country Side apartments in Somerset.

When the victim arrived, Bhim and two other males robbed and assaulted him.

The victim needed surgery for his injuries.

Franklin detectives and the Somerset County Major Crimes Squad handled the investigation.

They determined Bhim drove Carreker, and a third male only known as “Tyrone” to the apartment complex to sell marijuana to the victim.

Carreker punched and kicked the victim while the person known as “Tyrone” struck the victim in the head with a handgun.

Bhim and Carreker have each been charged with robbery, conspiracy, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault.

The robbery charge is a first-degree offense, that if convicted, carries a prison term of 10- to 20-years.

Bhim is being held at Somerset County Jail with bail set at $100,000, cash-only.

Anyone who is in the vicinity of Carreker should not approach him or attempt to detain him.

Anyone with information about this incident or Carreker’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Somerset County Crime Stoppers’ Tip Line at 1-888-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.888577tips.org or www.scpo.net, and click on either “Crime Stoppers” or “TIPS HOTLINE”. All calls are confidential.
