Middlesex County Opens South Brunswick Coronavirus Test Site

The new drive-thru test site will open Friday at the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission Inspection station, 2236 Rt. 130 north in Dayton.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — First, Middlesex County converted the Edison MVC inspection station into a coronavirus test site. Now, the county announced they will open a second test site this Friday, April 10 in the Dayton section of South Brunswick.

Similar to the Edison site, this test site will be located at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Inspection Station, 2236 Rt. 130 north in Dayton. It will also be a drive-through site; you do not need to get out of your car to be tested.

County officials said the Edison site has tested "hundreds" in the past week that it's been open, and they opened the Dayton site to be more convenient to residents who live in the southern half of Middlesex County.

“The covid-19 testing site in Edison has been a success, giving hundreds of our residents access to the covid-19 testing they need which, in turn, helps our professionals track the spread of the disease," said Middlesex Freeholder Director Ron Rios. "To give residents in municipalities further south in our county access to a drive-thru site, we are opting to add an additional county-run testing site in South Brunswick."

In order to be tested, you must:

To receive testing, you must be a Middlesex County resident (proof of residency is required including, but not limited to: a valid driver’s license; state issued identification; or two pieces of mail including utility bills, bank statements, or similar documentation with name and address), make an appointment online or via phone, as well as either have a valid doctor’s prescription or be exhibiting symptoms which include: fever 100.4 degrees or higher (99.6 degrees for people 65 years and older); respiratory symptoms; and/or shortness of breath.

If the person is not a Middlesex County resident, does not have a scheduled appointment, or does not have symptoms, they will not receive testing.

Test specimens will be sent to one of the approved laboratories, and results will be reported within 2-5 business days.
