Middlesex County Seeks Public Input On Transportation Plan Update

County residents can weigh in on traffic, safety and transit at a public meeting in Edison on Tuesday.

MIDDLESEX COUTNY, NJ — Have thoughts about traffic, road safety or bus service in South Brunswick and beyond? Middlesex County wants to hear them.

The county is updating its Transportation and Mobility Plan, which will guide how it makes travel “safer, easier, and more reliable for everyone,” according to a flyer announcing the effort. The first public meeting on the update is set for Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Middlesex College in Edison.

“No matter how you travel through Middlesex County, your opinion matters,” the flyer says.

The updated plan will help guide future transportation investments and improvements across the county, officials said. It will include “actionable recommendations and an implementation framework to maintain a safe, efficient, and accessible transportation system,” according to the county.

At the meeting, residents can learn what the plan will cover and how it will be developed. They can also share what’s working and what isn’t when they travel around the county, and tell planners what matters most to them, “whether that’s safety, traffic, public transit—or something else,” the flyer says.
