SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Do not be alarmed if you see a lot of emergency lights and sirens and what appears to be a car crash this Wednesday evening, Sept. 25 at Brooks Crossing elementary.
The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management has scheduled a live training exercise for Wednesday evening, Sept. 25 from 6-9 p.m. The exercise will involve a mock car crash on school property.
The drill will simulate a car crashing into the elementary school causing a gas leak. Nearly 50 volunteers will be actors, playing rolls as students, staff, parents and the general public. More than 60 police, firefighters, EMS and school officials will respond to the drill. The drill looks to evaluate the ability of police, fire, EMS, and school officials to coordinate efforts, treat the injured, evacuate the school, and account for all students.
