Murphy Vs. Ciattarelli: How South Brunswick Voted
In the closest gubernatorial election in decades, here's a look at how South Brunswick voted.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — It has been the closest gubernatorial race in decades. With the race declared for Phil Murphy over Jack Ciattarelli with 98 percent of the votes counted statewide, here's a look at how South Brunswick and Middlesex County voted.
The voter turnout in Middlesex was 33.04 percent, according to unofficial tallies published by the county as of 11 a.m. Friday.
In South Brunswick, 63.56 percent of the township's voters cast ballots for Murphy and 35.46 percent for Ciattarelli, according to updated results on Friday.

The official election results will be determined at the Board of Canvassers meeting on Nov. 15 and the County Clerk must certify official election results to the Secretary of State by Nov. 20.

As of 11 a.m. Friday, Murphy had a margin of 56,624 votes — 1,271,381 to 1,214,757 according to the Associated Press.
For the NJ 16 District race, 64.61 percent voted for Democrat Andrew Zwicker, while Republican Michael Pappas got 35.29 percent of votes. Zwicker lives in Kingston and his office is in Monmouth Junction.
In the assembly race, incumbent Roy Freiman and newcomer Sadaf Jaffer got 32.07 percent and 30.56 percent respectively. Meanwhile, Republicans Vincent T. Panico and Joseph A. Lukac III got 18.65 and 18.62 percent votes.
Many counties are still counting vote-by-mail ballots. All ballots postmarked before November 2, will be counted until November 8.
