NEW JERSEY — We've arrived at a New Year, and high schoolers will begin their search for a college in the months ahead. Keeping that in mind, we thought of bringing you a list of the state’s best institutions of higher learning, courtesy of Niche.com.

The Pittsburgh-based data analysis company released its 2022 rankings of the nation's best colleges in September.

To compile the rankings, Niche used academic, admission, financial and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with reviews and ratings from students, alumni and parents.

  2. Stevens Institute of Technology
  3. Rutgers University – New Brunswick
  4. The College of New Jersey
  5. Rutgers University – Newark
  6. Seton Hall University
  7. New Jersey Insititute of Technology
  8. Monmouth University
  9. Stockton University
  10. Montclair State University
