NJ Man Killed Mother, Desecrated Remains, Prosecutor Says
Khadir Jones, 25, of South Brunswick, is facing a first-degree murder charge after his mother was found dead in December, authorities said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 25-year-old South Brunswick man is facing a first-degree murder charge in in the death of his mother, Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.
Khadir Jones was charged Tuesday with first degree murder.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2025, authorities received a call requesting a welfare check at a home on Redwood Court.

Responding officers found Veronica Jones, 47, of South Brunswick, unresponsive. She was then pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Khadir Jones was charged with second-degree desecration of human remains. On Tuesday, he was charged with first-degree murder, officials said.

Khadir was Veronica’s son, Brynn Krause, a public information officer for the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, told Patch.
Jones is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of his pre-trial detention hearing.
