North Brunswick Burglars Said They Were 'From Water Company'
Men knocked on the front door, said they were from the water company, told the homeowner to go in the basement and then ransacked the home.
NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — North Brunswick police are warning homeowners to be aware of a burglary scheme where men say they are from the water company — and they then ransacked a home while the homeowners were in the basement.
The incident happened earlier this week: North Brunswick police said they responded to the area of Cranbury Cross Road for a residential burglary that occurred around 430 p.m. The homeowner said two men knocked on the door, advising the homeowner they were from the “water company” and were there to check a leak.
Once inside the home, the suspects advised the homeowner to go downstairs and bang on the pipes.
