Number Of COVID Cases In South Brunswick ‘Plateau:’ Officials

Officials said residents must continue with mitigation efforts as COVID-19 cases increased last week. However, there's no cause for concern.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Officials in South Brunswick said that the number of new COVID-19 cases in town have “plateaued,” after declining in the past weeks.

For the week of Feb. 28 to March 6, South Brunswick reported 42 new COVID-19 cases, up from 36 reported the week prior. No new fatalities were reported.

However, officials said the fluctuation was expected, and it shouldn’t be a cause for concern.

That, along with the vaccine, should result in lower township statistics in the next few weeks, said officials.

“The continuing decrease in hospitalizations state-wide is a promising sign,” officials said.
