NYC Man Found Stabbed in South Brunswick

South Brunswick, NJ - Patch first told you that a man was found stabbed in the chest early Friday morning off Ridge Road. At the time, police were unable to determine the man’s identity or where he was from. Now, here are more details:

South Brunswick Police received a phone call from a motorist at 2 a.m. Friday morning, Dec. 11, reporting a man lying on the shoulder of Ridge Road near Corn Road. The man appeared to be injured, the driver said.

Officers arrived and discovered a man to be suffering from several stab wounds, police said. He was taken by Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad and paramedics to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he underwent surgery. The victim is listed in stable condition, police said. The man was identified as a 25-year-old New York City resident, and preliminary indications are that the incident was not a random act, police said.

Detectives are working to identify where and how the man was stabbed. South Brunswick Police are coordinating with New York City Police in the investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have traveled Ridge Road near Docks Corner Road between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. Friday morning to call them at (732) 329-4646.
