Oct./Nov. See The Most South Brunswick Deer Accidents
The six weeks following the end of Sept. historically see the most deer-related accidents in South Brunswick Township, police announced.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Starting at the end of September, the next six weeks have historically seen the highest number of deer-related accidents in South Brunswick Township, police announced.
This past September alone, there were at least six crashes involving deer in South Brunswick, police said. In past years the majority of deer-related crashes have taken place over the upcoming next six weeks, which includes the entire month of October. That's because mating or "rutting" season peaks in November and that's when deer become more active. It's the time of year when they're most likely to unexpectedly dart out into the road.
"This is typically when we see an increase in car crashes involving deer," South Brunswick police said. "The deer can unexpectedly dart onto roads so motorists need to use extra caution."
