South Brunswick Area Cub Scout Pack 98 Supports Troops For Holidays

Kendall Park's Cub Scout Pack 98 "Goodies for Good Guys" annual Event!

Friday night was Kendall Park’s Cub Scout Pack 98 “Goodies for Good Guys” event, an annual meeting where the Scouts write letters to “Good Guys” and collect items, then package them up for people who are away from home during the holiday season.

Each year the Pack picks “Good Guys” to send care packages to who help us throughout the year. In past years, the Pack has sent packages to fire and police departments. They have also sent packages to emergency rooms at local hospitals for the doctors and nurses on duty Christmas Eve. For the past two years, the recipients have been members of the military that are overseas.

Cadets from the Princeton ROTC program helped during the meeting. There was a question & answer station where the Scouts asked the cadets about being a solider. There was also an area where the Scouts learned about military parade formations and calisthenics.

“This is a great way for the boys to understand the importance of giving during the Christmas season,” said Joseph Hobbs leader of Den 7 and coordinator of the meeting.

This year, over 100 care packages are going to Camp Patriot in Kuwait.
