
A great day by Dominick Padovano in the shot put and discus highlighted the South Brunswick High School boys track team's participation in the Metuchen Relays on Apr. 9.
"At the Metuchen Relays this past Saturday, our top finishes were a first for the shot put team, and second place for our 4x400, discus and distance medley teams," South Brunswick Coach Wilfredo Rivera noted.
Padovano (52' 5 1/2") and Adam Dickert (46' 3") won the shot put. Padovano had the best individual effort in the discus with a distance of 158' 10". Mike Greco was fifth (101' 5") in the discus.

Jay Donofrio (138' 8") and Adam Dickert (131' 1") placed third in the javelin.
Kotey Ashie, Kaseem Davis, Tyrin Fairman and Juwan Tisdale were second in the 4x400 in a time of 3:28.3.

Matt Eder, Mo Ziab, Mike Weber and Tyler Blackburn were second in the distance medley in a time of 10:56.5.
Frankie Serge and Jose Baxter were fifth in the 2x400 hurdles in a time of 2:00.5. Jose Baxter, Sajaan Chopra, Frankie Serge and Tyrin Fairman were third in the shuttle hurdles in a time of 1:06.6.
South Brunswick's sprints also did very well. Darrell Harper, Tyrin Fairman, Kaseem Davis and Jaleel Alston were fourth in the 4x100 (44.2). Kassem Davis, Kotey Ashie, Juwan Tisdale and Jaleel Alston were fourth in the 4x200 (1:32.7).
South Brunswick also won its first two regular season meets.
"We won our first two dual meets versus Piscataway (83-57) and JP Stevens (120-20)," Rivera said. "(April 12's) tri-meet versus Sayreville and Monroe was canceled due to weather."
South Brunswick is scheduled to compete in the Colts Neck Relays on Saturday.
