PHOTOS: South Brunswick Swimming Competes at Meet of Champions

South Brunswick High School swim team wraps up season at Meet of Champions.

The swimming teams wrapped up successful seasons this past weekend at the Meet of Champions, held in Sewell.

For the girls team, Cindy Shi and Emily Charniga represented SBHS at the Meet of Champions. 

Charniga recorded a time of 1:07.33 on Saturday in the preliminaries to grab the 10th seed in the 100 breastroke. She missed the school record by 1/10 of a second.

In the finals on Sunday, Charniga swam a time of 1:08.3 to take 15th place in the event. Click here for full results from the Meet of Champions.

The girls team finished the year with with a 6-4 record, along with a third place finish at the GMC Championships. The girls fell to Montgomery 112-58 in the state quarterfinals.

The boys team finished the season with a record of 9-3 before falling to Hillsborough 103-67 in the state semi-finals. The boys also took a 2nd place finish at the GMC Championships. 

Tyler Blackburn, Jeff Chan, Lincoln Harris and Harrison Kudwitt advanced from the boys team to the Meet of Champions. 

The team will wrap up the season tonight (March 6) with the Swim Team Banquet in the SBHS cafeteria at 6:30 p.m.

Varsity Awards Night will be held on Thursday (March 8) at 7 p.m. in the SBHS Auditorium.
