Plainsboro Gets $550K For Improvements To Community Park
The funds from the county will go towards improvements including playground equipment, a new gazebo, landscaping, and more.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Plainsboro Township will be getting a $550,000 grant from the county for improvements to Community Park.
Improvements include playground equipment, poured-in-place safety surfacing, concrete walkways and gazebo plaza, new gazebo, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking spaces, trees, and landscaping.
“Open space investment throughout Middlesex County continues to be a top priority of every member of the Board of County Commissioners,” Board of County Commissioners Director Ronald G. Rios said in a statement.

“Not only will this grant allow for much-needed improvements to expand access to outdoor recreation for County families, but it will fund the construction of new playgrounds for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, safety surfacing and gazebo with plaza, sitting walls and benches, which will attract more diverse families to our County.”
The grant agreement between the county and township under the Open Space, Recreation and Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund states that the funds are to be used for the construction of an ADA-compliant playground and other park improvements.

An amount of $500,000 will be available for the fiscal year 2022 and $50,000 for the fiscal year 2023.
The project is expected to be concluded within three years.
