Plainsboro Woman Killed In Rt. 535 Crash In South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Plainsboro woman was tragically killed in the Rt. 535 crash that tied up traffic in South Brunswick Twp. for hours Monday evening.

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Rt. 535 and Rt. 32 at 6:49 p.m. Monday. South Brunswick police released that photo from the crash scene.

Ming Xiong, 60, from Plainsboro, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla and was stopped at a red traffic signal on Rt. 32 west when her car was rear-ended by a 2002 Mini Cooper, driven by a 41-year-old South River man, police said.

As a result of the crash Xiong succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Three additional vehicles were also involved in the crash investigation, which occurred after the initial impact to Xiong’s vehicle. The accident shut down the busy intersection for five hours Monday night.

Cranbury Police Department, Monroe Police Department, New Jersey State Police, Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Cranbury Fire Department, Monmouth Junction EMS, Plainsboro EMS, and Monroe EMS all provided back-up at the scene.
