Award Winning Poets Featured Sunday at South Brunswick Library

Award-winning poets Adele Kenny and Cat Doty will be the featured readers on Sunday, Nov. 13 at South Brunswick's monthly series of Sunday poetry readings.

Award-winning poets Adele Kenny, author of 23 books of both poetry and non-fiction, and Cat Doty, the recipient of fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, will be the featured readers on Sunday, Nov. 13 at South Brunswick’s monthly series of Sunday poetry readings.

The program, sponsored by the South Brunswick Arts Commission, in cooperation with the South Brunswick Public Library, starts at 2 p.m. in the , 110 Kingston Lane in Monmouth Junction.

More than 700 of Kenny’s poems, reviews and articles have been published, and her poems have appeared in books and anthologies published by Crown, Tuttle, and McGraw-Hill. Her various awards include two poetry fellowships from the New Jersey State Arts Council.

Doty is the author of momentum, a volume of poems from CavanKerry Press, and Just Kidding, a collection of cartoons published by Avocet Press. Her work is in numerous magazines and anthologies.        

Admission to the poetry readings is free, though a donation of a nonperishable food item, which will be given to the South Brunswick Food Pantry, is encouraged.

Future poetry readings:

  • December 11– Gail Gerwin, whose poetry has earned four Allen Ginsberg honorable mentions, and Sondra Gash, whose collection of poems, Silk Elegy, tells the story of a young girl from an immigrant family disrupted by her mother’s mental illness.
