South Brunswick Police Save Man OD'ing On Heroin At Rt. 1 Motel

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police had to revive a man who was unconscious and overdosing on heroin this past Saturday, June 1 at a motel on Rt. 1.

The incident happened at LaMirage motel. At 11:31 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 Officer Matthew Hagood and Officer Bruce Redfield responded to the LaMirage for a call of an unconscious man in a motel room.

When the officers arrived they met the man’s girlfriend who said she found her 35-year-old boyfriend unconscious with foam coming out of his mouth. The two police officers immediately administered two doses of Naloxone and the man began to breathe normally and then woke up. He was taken by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.

Neither the man nor the woman are residents of South Brunswick, police said. The man lives in West Windsor.

According to South Brunswick police, this is the seventh time this year they have had to administer Naloxone to save a victims’ life. And the department said they will continue to use it.

“We will continue to take a comprehensive approach to the heroin problem, from our life saving efforts to enforcement and counseling. The officers did an excellent job in this case and saved this man’s life," said South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka.
