Police Seek Man Who 'Approached Juvenile' Near South Brunswick Wawa

Anyone with video of the area or who knows the driver is asked to call police.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a man who approached a juvenile on July 19 in the township.

A parent called the police last Wednesday evening to report her juvenile daughter was walking near Wawa on Route 27 a few hours earlier when a man in a vehicle began to speak with her.

The daughter went home and informed her mother about the interaction.

Detectives from the South Brunswick Police Department were able to find a video of a blue Honda Civic seen in the area t around the time the incident. Detectives are unsure of what the driver said to the juvenile or why he stopped near her.

Video of the area shows the Honda pulling into the Wawa around 2:45 p.m. Several minutes later the Honda leaves the Wawa parking lot and heads southbound on Route 27. The vehicle then turns around on Williams Street and into the lot of United Dental parking lot, police said.

The vehicle stops in the parking lot for a few minutes and then takes off northbound on Route 27.

Police are releasing the image in the hopes of speaking to the driver. The driver was described as a black male who was wearing a red shirt. Anyone who may know the driver is asked to call South Brunswick detectives at (732) 329-4646.
