Princeton Walk Thanks Police for Catching Peeping Tom

Residents helped catch a prowler who led police on an hour-and-a-half manhunt through Princeton Walk.

South Brunswick, NJ - Leafy, wealthy Princeton Walk, Oct. 28.

Several residents saw a man acting suspiciously, peering into windows, trespassing in yards, and then running away.

South Brunswick police were called, and Craig Walker led officers on an hour-and-a-half long manhunt and foot chase through the wooded development.

As police chased him, Princeton Walk residents gave officers up-to-the-minute location updates of where he was in the sprawling complex. Eventually, police set up a perimeter and Walker, 24, was arrested.

Last week, those Princeton Walk residents held a dinner at their clubhouse to thank the South Brunswick police for their quick response.

“Police arrested him a minute after my friend called me,” said Deepah Karthik, who helped organize the thank-you dinner. “I thought that was really remarkable.”

“Stronger communities are built through engagement,” she added, referencing the importance of South Brunswick residents and police staying in close contact with each other.

“It’s all about gratitude and saying thanks,” said Madhavi Bathula, who has lived in the complex for the past five years. “Thank you for all you do for the community and making this a safe place.”

“It is our partnership with the community that is our greatest asset. Residents who are informed and engaged create the best chances for us to be successful in stopping crime,” South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.
