South Brunswick, NJ - Prom season can be a particularly risky time of year. That's why all parents of South Brunswick High School juniors and seniors are invited to this important, and timely, meeting:
This Thursday, April 14, the South Brunswick Parent Academy presents "Proms, Parties and Pitfalls," presented at South Brunswick High School at 7 p.m. This workshop, offered to parents AND students, is an educational forum to gain knowledge, insight and tips on teens, alcohol & other drugs and to help ensure everyone stays SAFE, especially during the prom and graduation season — a particularly risky time of year.
Parents and students will explore the myths and facts surrounding underage alcohol and other drug use and abuse. Facilitators will discuss what parents and students can do to help keep students and their families safe and offer effective strategies, talking points and resources, to aid in successfully handling difficult or uncomfortable situations.

In an effort to encourage as many South Brunswick teens and their families to attend this important workshop, tickets will be raffled off to the SBHS Junior and Senior Proms (reimbursing families for tickets already purchased.) Each attendee will receive an entry for the raffle, so the more people from a family who attend (mom, dad, student, etc.) – the better the chance of winning! Parents and students should plan to come together to hear this important information AND win a free ticket to the prom! WIN-WIN!! (Please note: Four winners total, only one winning ticket per family, a $95 or $125 value.)
This is being offered in collaboration with the South Brunswick Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse, South Brunswick Police Dept., SBHS Professionals & Students, Wellspring Center for Prevention, Rutgers UBHC BRIDGE Center, SBHS Project Graduation and SUDZ (Stop Underage Drinking Zone).
