Reminder: Dog-Friendly 5K In North Brunswick Sept. 16

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — For the third year in a row, Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society will host its Fetch & Pounce 5K run next Saturday, September 16. Runners – and their canines – are invited to hit the pavement to honor animals in need.

The chip-timed, USATF-certified race will be held – rain or shine – at North Brunswick Community Park, located at 2053 U.S. Highway 130 in North Brunswick. Registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m.; race kick-off is at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their well-mannered, leashed canine running partners. Retractable leashes are prohibited, and participants are required to clean up after their pets.

Registration is $25 and all proceeds will benefit Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top three fundraisers, and a variety of refreshments and vendors will be available to enjoy.

The mission of the Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society is to provide a safe and peaceful haven for homeless, abandoned or abused animals. They help to decrease the number of cats and dogs being destroyed in kill shelters through the work of foster, spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return and education programs.
