The Inflation Reduction Act will impact education, labor, child care, health care, taxes, immigration and the environment.

PRINCETON, NJ — Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act on Friday.
The package will create jobs, fight climate change, and cut kitchen-table costs for working families. The bill now heads to the President’s desk.
“Among other things, the Inflation Reduction Act will relieve the pain of rising prices, hold corporations and billionaires accountable, and make our nation’s largest-ever investment in tackling the climate crisis,” Watson Coleman said in a statement.

The Inflation Reduction Act - a scaled-down version of what President Joe Biden's administration originally proposed in the Build Back Better Act - will cut costs for the middle and working class without raising taxes on small businesses or families whose income totals $400,000 or less.
It will impact education, labor, child care, health care, taxes, immigration and the environment.
“While the passage of this legislation is without question a victory for Americans, they nonetheless deserve more from their government,” Watson Coleman said.
“We will not stop fighting for the pieces left on the cutting room floor — universal childcare, pre-K, housing, immigration justice, and Medicare expansion. It is our duty as public servants to ensure that every single American can afford their most basic needs, and to that end, much work remains to be done.”
All NJ Democrats voted for the bill. The two Republican House members from New Jersey -Rep. Chris Smith (District 4) and Rep. Jeff Van Drew (District 2) - voted against the bill.
