Reward Now Offered For South Brunswick Gas Station Shooting
The BP attendant, a South Brunswick resident, remains in serious condition. Police say they have video surveillance and physical evidence.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The gas station attendant who was shot Sunday at a Rt. 27 gas station remains in serious condition, South Brunswick police said. He just had his second surgery Tuesday, and is recovering at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He is himself a resident of South Brunswick Township.
The 60-year-old attendant was shot several times at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at the BP Gas Station on Rt. 27 at Alston Road. The shooting was the result of a botched robbery, police say. Related: South Brunswick Gas Station Shooting Seriously Injures Attendant
The suspects drove off in a white vehicle that fled on Rt. 27 after the shooting, and are being actively sought by South Brunswick police. In fact, Middlesex County Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward for any information about the shooting. Detectives have recovered physical evidence from the scene, which they sent to the state crime lab for analysis, and there is also video surveillance.

"Our victim was just working extra hours to get ahead and he was shot," said Chief Raymond Hayducka. "We believe there are people out there with information that can help us close this case. That one call can make a difference.”
South Brunswick police say they've already gotten several anonymous calls, and they encourage anyone to come forward.

"No lead is too small and no information is insignificant," said police spokesman Capt. James Ryan.
The phone number to call in tips is: 1-800-939-9600. The website is: middlesextips.com. Text messages may be sent to 274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword ‘’midtip’’ followed by a message. Those who call will be given instructions on how to collect cash rewards by using a numerical code that will be recognized by a local bank, which will pay the rewards following approval by Crime Stoppers of Middlesex County Inc.
