Reward Offered For Info On South Brunswick Church Burglary

The burglary occurred just before Christmas at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, located in the Monmouth Junction part of town.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Authorities are offering a reward for information about a burglary that occurred at a local church just before Christmas.

At 7 a.m. on Dec. 22, parishioners discovered the burglary when they arrived for morning mass at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, which is located in the Monmouth Junction part of town.

According to police, the suspects ransacked several rooms in the church, climbed through ceiling tiles, smashed sheetrock and pried open closets and drawers.

They also stole the church’s collection money for the past week, police said.

The Middlesex County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that can be provided on the burglary.

While authorities didn’t provide a specific reward amount, the Middlesex County Crime Stoppers website said Crime Stoppers could pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information about unsolved crimes/any people involved in them.

“I want to thank Middlesex County Crime Stoppers for putting up this reward,” South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said.

“Our detectives continue to follow leads, and we believe that one phone call or online tip will help,” he continued. “Anyone with information can provide the tip anonymously and receive a cash reward.”
