Rutgers Faculty Rejects Deal With Pearson Online College
Faculty feels the deal gives too much power and money to Pearson.

A deal Rutgers University struck with Pearson eCollege to increase the number of classes offered online struck a nerve with faculty members on the Rutgers campus, nj.com reports.
The deal, made earlier this year, allows Rutgers and Pearson to split the tuition paid by students who take Pearson’s online classes, according to the report. On Wednesday, the New Brunswick campus’ graduate school faculty approved a resolution to reject the deal because they feel it give Pearson too much power and money as it relates to the program, according to the report.
Rutgers professors will be teaching the courses, and want the University to negotiate better terms, according to the report. They want to see their union involved in negotiations.
