Rutgers wants your input: Who should get an honorary degree from the school?

The school is accepting nominations for honorary degree recipients for the May 15, 2016 commencement ceremony.

“The university seeks recommendations of nominees who reflect the cultural diversity and international character of Rutgers,’’ the school said on its website. “We invite all members of the Rutgers community and the public to nominate candidates for consideration. We keep nominations confidential and nominees should not be contacted.”

The 2016 honorees would join the list of past recipients of honorary degrees, including Judy Blume, Lonnie G. Bunch III, Ralph Izzo, Richard E. Leakey, Frances Fox Piven, and Elizabeth Warren, the school said.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Sept. 25.
