Man Kills Driver Who Approached Him At Red Light

A man was charged with first-degree murder after he fatally shot a man who approached him at a traffic stop in Clifton on Friday, police said.

Angel Pacheco, 67, of Clifton was stopped at a traffic light just after 11:45 p.m., when 51-year-old Robert Rogers of Elmwood Park, approached Pacheco's pickup truck. The two got into an argument, and Pacheco shot Rogers, officials said.

Woman Killed In 3-Vehicle Crash

A 67-year-old Lawrenceville woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Hamilton on Friday night, authorities said.

The crash occurred on South Broad Street near the intersection with Hempstead Road shortly after 10 p.m., when it was snowing, police said.

The woman was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries the next day.

Conrail 'Santa Train' Collides With Minivan

A Conrail “Santa Train” collided with a minivan on Saturday evening in South Plainfield, leaving the driver uninjured but the vehicle damaged, according to media reports.

The incident took place at an ungated crossing on South Clinton Ave. Although there were no gates at the crossing, the overhead red caution lights were flashing at the time of the crash, according to NJ.com.

The train struck the rear end of the minivan and the driver was unhurt.

Conrail operates Santa trains in North and South Jersey.

Driver, Aide Fired After Preschooler Left On Bus For Hours

A preschooler in Egg Harbor was left in her school bus for hours last week before being found by the police, according to media reports. The driver and bus aide have been fired from their job.

The child’s father told authorities he put his daughter on the bus at 9:15 on Tuesday but learned she was absent when he arrived at school at 2 p.m., according to NJ.com.

Law enforcement and school officials began looking for the child who was found at 3 p.m., sleeping in an empty bus parked on a lot. On Friday the school superintendent said the bus driver and aid have been fired.

Body Found In Forest

A body was found on Sunday in Belleplain State Forest in Cape May County, according to NJ Advance Media. No other details have been released as the matter is still under investigation.
