Sayreville Man, 26, Identified as Victim of Fatal South Brunswick Car Crash

Police are still trying to determine what made Robert Wayda, Jr. veer off the roadway.

South Brunswick, NJ - South Brunswick police have released the identity of the driver killed in the tragic early morning car crash Saturday on Rt. 535.

He has been identified as Robert Wayda, Jr., 26, of Sayreville.

Police say Wayda's 2000 Infiniti G20 was headed north on Cranbury- South River Road (Rt. 535) when it veered off the road, struck a grass hill, became airborne and overturned at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

When rescue workers got there, they found the Infiniti upside down on its roof. Wayda had been ejected from the car and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

There were no other occupants of the vehicle.

The Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy on Sunday and ruled the cause of death as blunt force trauma.
