SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick firefighters and police are currently on the scene of a serious house fire on Wexford Drive, just off Ridge Road.

The call of the fire came in at 2:20 p.m. Monday and it started in the kitchen before spreading rapidly onto the second floor. A man in his 30s was the only person home at the time, and he got out of the house on his own after calling 911, police spokesman Capt. James Ryan said. Nobody else was in the home at the time.

The fire rose to a second alarm status and all the South Brunswick volunteer fire companies are at the scene, as well as additional aid from West Windsor and Plainsboro.
