South Brunswick, NJ - Three years later, a ShopRite will be built in the Target Plaza off Rt. 1 in South Brunswick Township.

A state appeals court sided with the South Brunswick Planning Board, affirming the board's approval of a ShopRite there, according to TAP Into.

The decision comes three years after South Brunswick first approved the project and OK'd a lot to be rezoned for the new ShopRite. The township and the developer were then sued by 426 Royal, LLC, the owner of the nearby South Brunswick Square Mall, reports TAP Into.

The courts ruled the rezoning was lawful.

“(You won’t) have to drive 10 miles to the nearest ShopRite. I think we need different shopping centers," said South Brunswick Mayor Frank Gambatese.
